Kyiv, Warsaw agree on creation of joint border and customs control bodies - Poroshenko
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has called for the establishment of joint border and customs control on the Ukrainian-Polish border, and said that Ukraine and Poland have already agreed on such a decision.
"There is also a very effective direction of infrastructure cooperation. Long queues at the checkpoints between Ukraine and Poland should be a thing of the past. We agreed that joint border and customs controls should be established at all checkpoints along the western border of Ukraine," he said at a meeting with students and professors in Lublin on Thursday.
Poroshenko expressed confidence that there should be no queues at the border, and that the local border traffic area should be expanded.
"There should be no queues. We should expand the border traffic area. I do not exclude that it will also include Lviv and Lublin," he said.
