Defense Ministry: Ukrainian army to procure 1,000 new items of weaponry before yearend
The Ukrainian army will procure about 1,000 items of brand new and modernized weaponry and military hardware before the end of the year.
"It is planned to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with about 1,000 pieces of new and modernized weapons and military hardware before the end of 2014," Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesperson Viktoria Kushnir said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Thursday.
The army will procure 51 armored personnel carriers and vehicles, 58 trucks, 41 radar stations with varying ranges of operation, 58 artillery weapons, 115 attack equipment and 439 brand new firearms, she said.
