Sikorski: Poroshenko speech on intention to repeal Ukraine's non-ally status important on European scale
The speech by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko delivered on Wednesday at the Poland's lower house of parliament is historic, said Polish Sejm Speaker Radoslaw Sikorski.
"We are satisfied to say that the Sejm could today host such an important event. I don't want to exaggerate, but I think that President Poroshenko's speech [on Ukraine's intention to repeal Ukraine's non-ally status] was important on a European scale," the former Polish foreign minister told the journalists.
During his speech, Poroshenko declared an intention to promptly submit a bill repealing Ukraine's non-aligned status to the Verkhovna Rada upon returning to Ukraine from a visit to Warsaw.
