Defense Ministry to strengthen army groups in south and southwest

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry is planning to strengthen the presence of Ukrainian troops along the southern and southwestern borders of Ukraine.

"We see threats not only in the east, but also in the south. The amount of troops there needs to be increased, rather than reduced. Therefore, we are making the relevant preparations," he said during his speech in parliament on Friday.

"I think that it won't be just a battalion there, because there we have threats from Transdniestria and a threat from the south. We know this process clearly," Poltorak said.
