UN assistant secretary general for human rights comes to Ukraine
UN Assistant Secretary General for Human Rights Ivan Simonovic arrived in Ukraine on Thursday to assess the human rights situation in the country, the secretary general's spokesman said.
Simonovic planned to meet with government figures and civil society activists during his visit, which ends on December 15, the spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, told a news conference.
He also planned to visit eastern Ukraine, Dujarric said.
Simonovic would hold a news conference in Kyiv on December 15, the spokesman said.
