Yatseniuk: First stage of implementing electronic government in Ukraine must be finished by 2016
Ukraine's Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has reported that the first stage of implementing electronic government in Ukraine must be finished by 2016.
"Changes on a government level aren't enough. Such changes must happen in every ministry, agency, administration, in all the government agencies. This is why we propose a new law on civil service for the first half of the year. It foresees a transparent competitive selection of government officials and introduces a procedure of [holding officials] responsible for failure to carry out their functions," the Premier said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on Tuesday, during the presentation of the government's program.
According to Yatseniuk, the Cabinet of Ministers will also work on implementing an electronic government. "We will set an ambitious goal to completely switch to electronic government, which foresees IDs for everybody in Ukraine, digital signature and electronic document flow. The first stage [of implementing] electronic government must be finished by 2016," he added.
