Belarus says is ready to host meeting of contact group on Ukraine at any moment

Belarus is completely ready to host the meeting of the three-party contact group on Ukraine, but the date of the meeting will depend on the agreements reached by the parties, Minsk said.

"The date of the meeting fully depends on the parties' decision. As soon as the parties involved agree on the specific date of the meeting of the contact group and inform us about it, we are ready to report it within 1.5 minutes," Belarusian Foreign Ministry press officer Dmitry Mironchik told Interfax on Monday.

Mironchik reiterated that Belarus is fully technically ready to hold the meeting.

According to recent reports, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has insisted that the contact group meet as soon as possible so that ceasefire can be achieved as early as December 9.

The DPR, for its part says such a meeting would be possible on December 12 at the earliest.
