Ukrzaliznytsia intends to stop passenger transportation in ATO zone
The State Railway Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia) to execute the president decree of November 14, 2014 on the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of November 4, 2014 on the urgent measures of stabilizing the social and economic situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions has drawn up proposals on the stoppage of passenger transportation in the counterterrorist operation (ATO) zone, the head of the legal department at Ukrzaliznytsia Oleh Tytov has said.
"A decision was made for passenger transportation, which I think will be agreed by the profile ministry… We'll stop movement of passenger trains in the ATO zone," he said at a press conference in Kyiv on Tuesday.
"We will transport people to the so-called border," he said.
He said that the final decision and the terms of its approval depend on the Infrastructure Ministry.
Tytov added that Ukrzaliznytsia has prepared the most painless options and considered the bypassing routes via Kharkiv region.
