Shelling of Ukrainian army positions in east Ukraine less intense – official
Although the total number of attacks in the military-operation zone in eastern Ukraine has dropped in the past 24 hours, the situation has a trend towards becoming more complicated, Ukraine's National Defense and Security Council spokesman Andriy Lysenko said.
"The total number of attacks has gone down somewhat in the past 24 hours," Lysenko said at a briefing on Tuesday, attributing it to the fact that militants have sustained significant losses in the past few days.
"At the same time, the number of cases of (the enemy) using Grad rocket launchers has increased somewhat," he added.
The shelling of the Ukrainian military positions continues along the delimitation line with the Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics, with areas around Luhansk and Debaltseve being the most targeted zones in the past 24 hours, he said.
