Moscow has acknowledged as valid the early elections of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada.
"We are waiting for an official outcome; the incoming information has been rather discrepant so far. But it is already clear that the election is valid in spite of the rather harsh and dirty election campaign," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin told Interfax on Monday.
"The correlation of forces, which is taking shape, may enable the Ukrainian administration to get down to the resolution of primary problems of their society," he said.
The new Verkhovna Rada will have "to start an inclusive dialogue with entire society, establish direct contacts with representatives of regions and seek a diplomatic solution to the problems caused by the actions of Kyiv," he stated.
