Voting ends for Ukrainians at polling stations in Australia, South Korea, Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia, no incidents reported, says Foreign Ministry
The polling stations in Australia, South Korea, Japan, China, Singapore and Malaysia for the extraordinary parliamentary election in Ukraine have been closed, Ukraine's Deputy Foreign Minister and chief of staff Andriy Olefirov has said.
"As of 1400 (Kyiv time) voting ended at seven polling stations, in particular, those created at the Ukrainian embassy to Australia, South Korea, Japan, China, at the Consulate General in Shanghai, at the Ukrainian embassy in Malaysia and Singapore. The votes are being counted there and the records are being filled out," he said at a briefing.
The Foreign Ministry expects that the turnout at the parliamentary election at polling stations abroad could be lower than the turnout during the presidential election in May 2014, but higher than the turnout during the parliamentary election in 2012.
He said that as of 1400 Kyiv time no incidents reported at polling stations opened abroad.
