NSDC warns of attempts to misinform population before and on Election Day on October 26
Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has asked representatives of the media to carefully check all reports coming on the eve and on the day of early parliamentary elections in Ukraine on October 26.
"According to the latest reports, a huge amount of misleading materials and information aimed at intimidating people and obstructing the elections is expected on Saturday and Sunday," NSDC spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
He also asked media representatives not to spread unverified reports.
He said that on October 26, the council's information and analytical center would work around the clock and promptly inform people about the situation with the voting. Lysenko said that the press services of law enforcement agencies would also work in the same enhanced mode.
