Militants preparing provocations in Donbas during parliamentary elections – NSDC

Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) has said that militants are preparing provocations on the eve of parliamentary elections in Ukraine.

"On the eve of parliamentary elections the terrorists are preparing a series of provocations in Donbas, in particular, the shelling of residential areas and facilities in order to discredit Ukrainian military units," NSDC spokesman Andriy Lysenko said at a press briefing on Thursday.

He said that on the outskirts of Sukhodilsk in Luhansk region militants had deployed an armored personnel carrier and a Grad multiple rocket launcher on a KrAZ truck, with two white lines painted on them – a sign that the military vehicles belong to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Lysenko also noted that at an enterprise in the region militants had ordered the production of Ukrainian military insignia.
