Ukroboronprom gets foreign order for $1.5 bln – CEO
Ukroboronprom State Concern is preparing for the signing of a foreign economic contract worth $1.5 billion, head of the state concern Roman Romanov has said.
The head of the concern said at a press conference in Kyiv on October 21 he considers it premature to specify the details of the upcoming cooperation, noting only that the agreement was achieved late last week during the visit of a foreign customer delegation to Ukraine.
"There were ten people, we travelled with them all over Ukraine, visited subcontracting plants. The result of the weekly work is a contract for $1.5 billion for our country," he said.
According to Romanov, it is planned to involve about 20 Ukrainian defence enterprises in international cooperation for the supply of "highly efficient" produce.
The information on Ukraine's signing the large-scale defence contract could become public in the near future: the foreign customer will announce everything himself, he said.
