Poroshenko: 18 more prisoners of war released from captivity
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that six officers, 11 National Guard soldiers and a volunteer have been released from the captivity of militants.
"They have just reported the release from captivity of 18 of our military. Six officers were held in Donetsk, whereas 11 National Guard soldiers and an Aidar battalion volunteer were released in Snizhne," reads a statement posted on Poroshenko's official Web page on Monday.
An advisor to the SBU head, Markiyan Lubkivsky, said at a press conference on Monday that 752 military had recently returned home with the assistance of the interagency center on assistance to families.
At the same time, he said that more than 500 people were still in captivity.
