Poroshenko nominates National Guard chief Poltorak for defense minister's chair
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has nominated National Guard Commander Stepan Poltorak for the post of Defense Minister of Ukraine and submitted a relative presentation to the parliament.
The relative report was posted on the presidential Web site on Monday.
Colonel General Poltorak was born in 1965. Since March 19, 2014 he was Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine. Since February 28 until March 12, 2014 he was Commander of the Internal Troops of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry.
