Lutsenko: Crimea, part of Donbas to get MPs in Rada after Ukrainian flag is hoisted there

The Ukrainians will elect 420 out of 450 deputies in the early parliament elections, while ten Crimean constituencies and twenty Donbas constituency will get their representatives in the Verkhovna Rada after these territories return under the Ukrainian control, Petro Poroshenko Bloc party chairman Yuriy Lutsenko told voters.

"For now, five deputies elected in majority constituents will represent Luhansk region and Donetsk region will be represented by twelve," the party press service quoted Lutsenko as saying.

The vacancies will be filled after the Ukrainian flag is again hoisted above Donetsk, Luhansk and Crimea, he said.

The politician asked citizens to visit polling stations and exhibit their care about the country's future.

"Only 20% of our party candidates have been parliament members before. Some of our team members, who have been in the parliament earlier, will fight for the right to return there in majority constituents. And whether this happens or not depends entirely on the will of the people. There should be no choosing between "the new" and "the old" in the parliament election. First and foremost, competent people should be elected to the parliament," Lutsenko stressed.
