134 police officers, National Guard soldiers killed, 628 injured in combat zone - Avakov
A total of 134 Interior Ministry employees and National Guard soldiers have been killed and 628 more injured during the anti-terrorist operation (ATO) in eastern Ukraine as of October 2, 2014, Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov reported on his Facebook page on Thursday.
In particular, 68 Interior Ministry employees were killed and 273 wounded, and 66 National Guard soldiers were killed and 355 wounded.
In addition, according to the report, 31 employees of law enforcement agencies and 59 National Guard soldiers went missing. Five police officers and 155 National Guard servicemen remain in captivity.
As is known, apart from the Interior Ministry and National Guard forces, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service and the State Border Service forces are also engaged in the area of the anti-terrorist operation in the east of Ukraine.
