PACE election observers to visit Ukraine on October 7-8
A delegation of seven members of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Briton Christopher Chope, will visit Ukraine on October 7-8 to oversee preparations for the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 26, the press service of the Council of Europe has reported.
In Kyiv, the delegation plans to meet with President Petro Poroshenko, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Oleksandr Turchynov, Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and Interior Minister Arsen Avakov.
In addition, it is expected to meet with the leaders and representatives of major political parties, the head and members of the Central Election Commission, representatives of the international community, non-governmental organizations and the media.
In general, a delegation of 42 PACE members will observe the voting process in Ukraine.
