National Guard servicemen have begun to patrol Kharkiv streets.
The patrols are mounted using brand new armored Kuhuar vehicles.
Armored vehicles of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's National Guard have joined Kharkiv street patrols by the decision of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's main department in the Kharkiv region, the regional police department quoted the National Guard press service as saying.
"Kharkiv residents might have seen heavy vehicles on central streets of their city yesterday. The vehicles are operated by special police units. Starting today, the patrols have been joined by servicemen of the Ukrainian Interior Ministry's National Guard in brand-new KrAZ Kuhuar vehicles," head of the regional police's public security department Police Col. Serhiy Birbasov said.
He assured reporters that the police were fully providing public peace in the Kharkiv region and would not allow any regional destabilization attempts to happen.
