Yatseniuk calling on EU to expedite signing of gas transit agreements with Ukraine
Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk is calling on Europe to expedite the process of signing transit contracts for gas supplies with Ukraine.
"Today we clearly stated that we, as a transit state, will fulfill our obligations. Unfortunately, at present, we do not have obligations before our European partners because we do not have transit contracts. Therefore we are asking the Europeans to expedite the signing of transit agreements with Ukraine. This would be both right and would comply with the third energy package," he said during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting in Kyiv on Tuesday.
