Poroshenko signs law permitting civil servants to collect donations for army
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has signed a law introducing amendments to Article 7 of the law of Ukraine on charity and charitable organizations.
"Law No. 1663-VII allows individuals working in state or other public service to carry out a public gathering of donations to ensure the combat capability of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," the presidential press service reported.
The provisions of the law, which were in effect earlier, did not allow officials and persons holding positions in state or other public service, and persons acting on their behalf, to carry out the collection of public donations.
