NSDC denies firing on Donetsk with phosphorous munitions
The Ukrainian military did not use munitions containing phosphorous in the shelling of Donetsk, said Andriy Lysenko, a spokesman for the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council.
"With regard to (incendiary) bombs: we are not bombing Donetsk, our aviation is not bombing... The armed forces of Ukraine are only using the munitions currently in service, which meet all norms and are not prohibited," Lysenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
Meanwhile, Lysenko has accused the militants of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) of shelling central Donetsk. "We have evidence that it was militants who fired at the city center from the square near the train station," the NSDC spokesman said.
