Poroshenko and Merkel discuss use of German financial aid to rebuild Donbas infrastructure
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and German Chancellor Angela Merkel discussed further ways to resolve the conflict in Ukraine's eastern regions over the phone, Poroshenko's press service has reported.
The Ukrainian president thanked the German leader for her personal efforts aimed at restoring peace and stability in Ukraine.
"It is highly important for the Ukrainians that Germany and the European Union are demonstrating their solidarity and constant support," Poroshenko said.
The sides also discussed how Germany's financial assistance could be used to rebuild infrastructure in eastern Ukraine, the press service said.
