Rada at first reading passes law on moratorium on checks and fines on entrepreneurs' loans in ATO area

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on August 14 by 257 votes adopted as a basis the bill on temporary measures for the period of the anti-terrorist operation, in particular those abolishing checks and penalties on loans issued to business entities in the ATO area in the east of Ukraine.

According to the author of the legislative initiative, MP of the Batkivschyna faction Oleksandra Kuzhel, the document foresees a moratorium on charging penalties on the principal of debt on the credit obligations of business entities.

"Penalties that have been accrued or are being charged on the principal debt on credit obligations for business entities located on the territory of the anti-terrorist operations and during the conducting of ATO are cancelled," she said.

The bill foresees that all permits at all companies in the ATO area continue to operate "automatically."

"We propose a moratorium on inspections. Checks are still being conducted in the ATO area and people in masks are seizing documents from legal entities," the MP said.
