Nine servicemen die, 18 wounded in Ukrainian army operation in past 24 hours
Twenty clashes have occurred in the army operation zone in eastern Ukraine in the past 24 hours, nine servicemen are dead, Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council information analysis center speaker Andriy Lysenko said.
"We have lost nine servicemen dead and 18 wounded over the past day," Lysenko said at a press briefing on Thursday.
National Guard units seized the town of Hirske in the Luhansk region on Wednesday evening. There were no army casualties in that operation, he said.
Self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk people's republics did not report possible casualties of the militants on Thursday.
