Poroshenko and Biden speak over the phone for third time in a week
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has held another round of telephone consultations with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden, the Ukrainian presidential press service reported.
"In his telephone conversation with the vice president of the United States, the president of Ukraine informed him of the situation surrounding the implementation of the international humanitarian mission under the auspices of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)," the press service said.
The sides agreed to further coordinate their efforts in responding to existing and potential challenges and threats.
During his previous telephone conversation with Biden early on August 10, the Ukrainian leader asked the U.S. to join the ICRC-led international mission to deliver humanitarian aid to the city of Luhansk in eastern Ukraine.
Poroshenko and Biden also spoke over the phone on August 7.
