Ukrainian government additionally provides UAH 10 mln to buy vital goods for eastern regions, says prime minister

The Ukrainian government will additionally provide UAH 10 million to buy vital goods to be sent to the counterterrorist operation (ATO) zone, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has said.

"The Ukrainian government and the Ukrainian president supply vital goods to all liberated territories. We as the Ukrainian state provided and will continue providing our citizens [with aid] and the government additionally allocates UAH 10 million to buy vital goods," he said, opening a cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

The prime minister said that the Global Peace Foundation (GPF) has around $6 million in the management of the UN commissionaire. The funds will be also sent to the provision of humanitarian aid to the eastern regions of Ukraine.

Yatseniuk ordered the Infrastructure Ministry, Agricultural Policy and Food Ministry, Health Ministry and Foreign Ministry to form a column to supply vital goods to the east of Ukraine.

The prime minister asked the Red Cross to help delivering the goods to people, as the territories are under control of illegal armed groups.
