Poroshenko, Italian PM discuss international aid for Luhansk
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi have discussed Italy's participation in the international humanitarian mission for Luhansk, the Ukrainian president's press office said on Tuesday.
In their telephone conversation Renzi reassured Poroshenko that Italy is a friend of Ukraine and that he, as the prime minister of a country presiding in the EU, is ready to help step up international political dialogue and economic cooperation with Ukraine, the press office said.
Today, the transatlantic area is united in its support of Ukraine, the Italian prime minister said.
For his part, Poroshenko invited Renzi to pay a formal visit to Ukraine.
The parties also discussed a donor conference for Ukraine that will be held in Kyiv this fall and Italy's possible attendance.
