Over 80,000 refugees, mostly from Luhansk and Donetsk regions, recorded in Ukraine - social policy minister
About 83,000 internally displaced persons (IDPs) have currently been registered in Ukraine, Social Policy Minister Liudmyla Denisova has said.
"The largest number of persons travels to Kharkiv and Kyiv regions. There are about 83,000 IDPs," she told reporters in Kyiv on Monday.
Denisova said that 15,000 of the 83,000 IDPs were persons who left Crimea, and the rest are from Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
She also said that Donetsk and Luhansk had been completely disconnected from the treasury service and in this regard the Social Policy Ministry could not ensure the payment of pensions and social benefits. However, she said, there is funding for this, and all payments will be made as soon as the situation allows.
