Ten Ukrainian paratroopers killed near Shakhtarsk - Ukrainian Defense Ministry
Ten Ukrainian paratroopers were killed, 13 were wounded, and 11 went missing in the fighting near the town of Shakhtarsk, Donetsk region, Yuriy Halushkin, acting commander of the Ukrainian Landing Troops, told a briefing in Kyiv on Friday.
Halushkin said the commander of the unit tried to lead the troops out, but they were ambushed.
The unit has now left the fighting area and is in a safe place, he said.
A group of Ukrainian paratroopers were ambushed by militants near Shakhtarsk on July 31.
