Over 360 soldiers killed in east Ukraine since start of operation - NSDC
A total of 363 soldiers have been killed and 1,434 injured since the military operation began in mid-April, said Andriy Lysenko, spokesman for the National Security and Defense Council.
''In all, 363 Ukrainian troops have been killed and 1,434 injured," Lysenko said at a briefing on Wednesday.
Bomb disposal experts have demined 45 local infrastructure assets, he said.
According to the Ukrainian army demining teams which were involved in the operation, they have detected and destroyed 3,314 explosive items, Lysenko said.
The military operation in east Ukraine was declared in mid-April in response to mass protests by federalization supporters in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions.
