Luhansk council: 93 civilians, including one child, die in July fighting
Ninety-three civilians, including one child, have been killed and 407 injured in Luhansk since intensive fighting broke out in the city at the start of this month, the city council said on Monday.
Twenty-one kindergartens, 23 schools, seven other educational buildings, nine student residence buildings, a bus station, pharmacy storehouses, 97 apartment blocks, 286 private houses, and three medical institutions have been destroyed in this period, the council said in a statement.
Fourteen factories, including a bread-baking one, and 26 stores, among them five supermarkets, have been damaged.
Eighty percent of the city's markets are closed, and there are shortages of fuel.
About 18,000 square meters of road surfacing, 18 kilometers of trolleybus and streetcar wires, and 26 kilometers of electricity transmission lines are destroyed, and 12 central heating and eight water supply stations are out of service.
Eleven trolleybuses, five streetcars and 40 shuttle buses have been damaged, the statement said.
