The Ukrainian military are bending efforts "to free from terrorists the territory of the crash of the Boeing-777 airliner to guarantee security and the possibility of conducting studies to international experts," spokesman for the information center of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Andriy Lysenko said on Sunday.
Previously Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko expressed intentions to stop hostilities in a 40-kilometerr zone around the crash scene.
Lysenko also said that the army is conducting hostilities in the outskirts of Horlivka and also in the directions of Debaltseve in Donetsk region and Pervomaisk in Luhansk region.
"Formations of the Ukrainian Armed Forces have reached the outskirts of Horlivka. Thanks to a fast maneuver and strong offensive eight combat vehicles and over 20 terrorists were neutralized," he said at a Sunday briefing.
At the same time one serviceman was killed and 35 wounded in the past 24 hours in the anti-terrorist effort, he said.
