Petro Symonenko, leader of the Ukrainian Communist Party faction, was attacked by parliamentarians during the Wednesday morning parliament session.
After a proposal was made to remove Symonenko from the hall, deputies from the Svoboda faction began pushing him from the hall for his statements "on the killing by Ukrainian military of the country's citizens for use in organ transplantation," an Interfax-Ukraine correspondent has reported.
That statement, which was allegedly made by Symonenko, was quoted by a member of the Svoboda faction from the parliament tribune.
Ukrainian Parliament Speaker Oleksandr Turchynov first announced a 15-minute break and then asked the leaders of the factions and groups to calm the parliamentarians.
Some time later, the Communist Party faction left the parliament hall without making any statements.
