NSDC says 13 servicemen die in eastern Ukraine in 24 hours
In the past 24 hours 13 Ukrainian servicemen have been killed in the area of the anti-terrorist operation in eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council information center representative Andriy Lysenko said at a briefing on Tuesday.
"In the past 24 hours 13 servicemen were killed," Lysenko said.
Three of them died in a bomb-filled minibus explosion, he said. When asked whether a suicide bomber was driving the bus, Lysenko noted that this version was unlikely, as ''the motivation is very low.''
The number of people injured in the past 24 hours is not specified.
In the past week not a single Ukrainian military jet or helicopter has been brought down, Lysenko said. "Not a single plane was brought down or even hit," he said.
"The militants are indulging in wishful thinking," Lysenko said.
