Donetsk regional governor denies reports of locals' deaths in Malaysian plane crash
The reports about the alleged deaths of local residents as the result of the Thursday crash of the Malaysian Boeing 777 are untrue, Head of Donetsk Regional State Administration Serhiy Taruta has said.
"Thankfully, no Donetsk region residents have died, as the aircraft debris fell in an area where there were no houses. The information about the alleged deaths among the local residents as the result of the fall of the Boeing is untrue," Taruta said on Friday during a conference call of Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk with regional governors.
Earlier, pro-Russian insurgents claimed that some locals died as the result of the Malaysian Boeing crash in Donetsk region.
