Principal Ukrainian television channels stopped being relayed to Donetsk on Thursday.
The channels were no longer on the grids of the city's cable operators, which offered no explanations to their customers, an Interfax correspondent reported.
Moreover, there were shortages of excisable goods, primarily cigarettes and alcohol, at smaller retail outlets, whose owners blamed deliveries. At the same time, there were adequate ranges and quantities of such products at larger supermarkets, the Interfax reporter said.
Nor were there any problems with food or other vital goods.
There were no restrictions on entry into or exit from Donetsk, though, there was a Donetsk People's Republic checkpoint at each entry to the city. However, not many people appeared to want to leave Donetsk.
Men in camouflage uniforms were walking around the city's central part, but there were practically none of them in "outskirts" districts except for areas where Donetsk People's Republic checkpoints are located.
