Latvia offers medical assistance for Ukrainian soldiers wounded during military operations

Latvia expressed its readiness to provide medical and material assistance to people injured during the anti-terrorist operation in the eastern regions of Ukraine.

Foreign Minister of Latvia Edgars Rinkevics promised the country' help at a press conference in Ukrainian city Dnipropetrovsk on Thursday.

The ministers noted that the European Union has already decided to allocate EUR 11 billion for Ukraine to carry reforms, which will make it close to the integration with EU.

Besides, the EU has already permitted duty-free import of Ukrainian goods that meet European standards.

The main thing is, Rinkevics said, to help the Ukrainian economy, and entrepreneurs who want to reach the European market, and for this purpose Ukraine has to make its goods more competitive.

We will cooperate with the Ukrainian government in this direction, he said.

On Thursday, Rinkevics together with Foreign Minister of Iceland Gunnar Bragi Sveinsson met with Deputy Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Borys Filatov in Dnipropetrovsk.
