Ukraine gets 2,000 high-quality bulletproof vests from U.S. - Defense Ministry

As of early July, Ukraine has received from the United States 2,000 Interceptor bulletproof vests, whose labels show their excellent bulletproof qualities, the Ukrainian Defense Ministry press office said on Wednesday.

"Taking into account that production capacities of relevant Ukrainian enterprises do not meet relevant demands of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in regard to domestically produced bulletproof vests, subdivisions are provided with personal protection means, including with the help of foreign partners," the press office said.

At the same time, according to the tests to access ballistic resistance of the U.S.-made Interceptor bulletproof vest, the sample provided has shown excellent bulletproof qualities against both 7.62 rounds and smaller calibers as well.

Ukrainian mass media outlets reported earlier that the quality of the bulletproof vests supplied by the U.S. to Ukraine was unsatisfactory.
