Last night was not quiet in Donetsk: gunfire continued and people heard military hardware moving, the Donetsk City Council said in a report posted on its Web site.
"People in practically every district reported local shootouts and the sound of planes flying low and a heavy military convoy moving at late hours," the report said.
The city calmed down at 0900 on Wednesday. "Service is good on all public transport lines," the City Council said.
Meanwhile, gas service repairmen have been unable to reach the gas pipeline section damaged in the July 15 shooting at the airport area.
"Armed representatives of the Donetsk People's Republic did not let them pass," the City Council stated. "According to unconfirmed reports, the servicemen have shut down the gas pipeline valve and there is no flame," it said.
