Kyiv: Trilateral contact group' video link possible on Tuesday
A video link of the trilateral contact group dealing with the peace process in eastern Ukraine is expected on Tuesday, Ukrainian National Defense and Security Council spokesman Andriy Lysenko said.
"Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has negotiated with German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel. The parties discussed the upcoming discussion of Ukrainian issues at the Council of the European Union and ways to arrange a video link between members of the trilateral contact group. The video link may be arranged today," he told a press briefing in Kyiv.
"Merkel stressed that a comment by the German federal government speaker regarding direct negotiations with the terrorists had been misinterpreted and declared her adherence to the idea of consultations at the trilateral contact group," Lysenko said.
