The Latvian parliament has ratified the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics has said.
"The Latvian parliament has unanimously ratified the EU- Ukraine Association Agreement as a sign of solidarity with the Ukrainian people," he wrote on his Twitter page.
As reported, Ukraine and the European Union signed the economic chapter of the Association Agreement, which foresees the creation of a free trade area, in Brussels on June 27. The economic part of the agreement envisages Ukraine's deeper economic integration with the EU, as well as the creation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area.
Romania ratified the agreement on July 2, and Lithuania on July 8.
