OSCE Permanent Council won't meet over Ukraine – Klimkin

Ukraine doesn't believe that an unscheduled meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council initiated by Russia to discuss the humanitarian situation in Ukraine is possible, Foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin has said.

"[There will be] no meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council," the minister said at a briefing on Thursday.

He said that none of the OSCE members backed a resolution proposed by Russia, and they won't consider it.

On July 8, Russia called on the OSCE to conduct an unscheduled meeting of the Permanent Council due to what it said was the continued worsening of the humanitarian situation in Ukraine. Russia's draft resolution contains demands that Ukraine stop military actions and withdraw forces from the eastern part of the country, as well as to establish humanitarian corridors to the counter-terror operation area.
