Turning point reached in ATO, militants feel deceived - Ukrainian Interior Ministry

An advisor to the Ukrainian interior minister, Anton Heraschenko, has expressed a view that a turning point has been reached in the fight against terrorist in the country's east, adding that militants were feeling depressed.

"According to our intelligence, the moral of militants are extremely low because they feel abandoned, betrayed and deceived," Heraschenko said at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.

He said both the authorities and the army will continue waging the information and psychological war to force Kyiv's opponents into surrender.

Heraschenko also said that the Ukrainian government forces are completing the work of covering the country's border with Russia. They have yet to occupy all border checkpoints but "at this moment, the infiltration of significant numbers of armored vehicles is not possible across the border," the minister's advisor said.
