Glazyev faces criminal charges in Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has launched a criminal inquiry against Russian Presidential Advisor Sergei Glazyev.

The case was opened on the charge of "public calls for starting a military conflict" under Article 436 of the Ukrainian Criminal Code, SBU chief Valentyn Nalyvaichenko said on Saturday.

The SBU wants Glazyev to testify against the chairman of the Donetsk-Luhansk parliament, Oleh Tsariov, and the acting leader of the self-proclaimed Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksionov, Nalyvaichenko said.

"He should give evidence: what exactly Aksionov and Tsariov have been advising him, which tasks exactly these people have been getting from him," the SBU chief said.

Ukrainian investigators consider Glazyev responsible for the planning of "military operations, helping terrorists and planning special information operations," Nalyvaichenko said.
