Brussels meeting addresses violations of east Ukraine ceasefire
Brussels hosted negotiations between Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande on Friday, the Ukrainian leader's press service has reported.
The agenda for the meeting was dominated by the implementation of Poroshenko's plan to restore peace to Ukraine's southeastern regions, according to the press service.
"The sides expressed concern over violations by the militants of the ceasefire declared in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions," it said.
Merkel and Hollande reiterated the importance for all sides to honor their commitments, Poroshenko's press service said.
"The sides agreed that the European Union should take a more resolute stance," it said.
Poroshenko is currently on a visit to Brussels, where the economic provisions of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU were signed on Friday.
