Poroshenko sees withdrawal by Russian Federation Council of mandate to use Russian army in Ukraine as result of his peace plan
The decision made by the Russian Federation Council to withdraw the mandate to use the Russian army in Ukraine is a consequence of the implementation of the Ukrainian president's peace plan for eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said.
During a meeting with Vitali Klitschko, the head of the Kyiv city administration, Poroshenko spoke about the plans of decentralization of power in Ukraine, which is an important part of the peace plan, the Ukrainian presidential press service has reported.
"In this context, Poroshenko said the withdrawal of the mandate to use the Russian army in Ukraine is a consequence of the implementation of the Ukrainian president's peace plan," the report says.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Russian Federation Council withdrew the mandate it had given the Russian president to use the army on the territory of Ukraine. The decision was made by the Federation Council at the request of the Russian president.
