Two injured, about 30 detained in Kharkiv demonstrations
Two people were hurt in an attempt of the ultras and supporters of an integral Ukraine to break through police cordons towards the Lenin Monument on Kharkiv Freedom Square where pro-Russian activists were holding a demonstration.
"A woman and a young man were hit on their heads and several persons were detained," eyewitnesses told Interfax-Ukraine on Sunday.
The police confirmed detentions of the demonstrators to Interfax-Ukraine.
"There was a fight between citizens and insults were shouted. Activists were detained and brought to the district police station for giving testimony," the police said.
About 30 persons were detained on both sides, the police noted.
