NBU head resigns in order to continue his public, political activities
Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Stepan Kubiv has resigned from his post and intends to continue his public and political activities.
"Please accept my resignation from the post of the NBU governor in connection with my plans to continue public and political activities for the sake of the full and uncompromised implementation of the values of the Maidan," Kubiv said in a statement, a copy of which was posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
As reported, the president proposed that parliament appoint Valeriya Gontareva, who has worked as the chair of the Board at the Investment Capital Ukraine (ICU) since December 2007, as NBU governor.
